You can now explicitly override a student's overall grading period grade for a class. This can be done from several different places.
When you move the mouse over a grade that can be overridden, the override icon will appear in the upper-right corner of the cell as shown below.
Clicking on that cell will bring up the Grade Override dialog.
Grades that have been overridden will appear with a blue override icon permanently as shown below.

At moment it is controlled by the "Manage Class Assignments" privilege for administrators, but we will add a separate privilege for it in the near future.

Can the ability to override the grades be locked down via privileges? This is not something that we would want everyone to be able to do .
